Virus Updates	Hundreds of new computer viruses are released every day. For your anti-virus software to be effective against them you should update it on a regular basis. As part of our maintenance packages we will ensure that things are up to date and configure your anti-virus software to automatically download any available updates. Virus Scan	Many anti-virus products actively protect your computer from virus attacks, but sometimes the bad guys can creep through the net. It is advisable that you fully scan your computer on a regular basis, not only for viruses but other infections such as spyware and trojans. If you don't manage to run a regular full scan we will do it for you. We will also look for any suspicious activity which might suggest that your computer is infected. Log Check	Before you are aware that things are wrong with your computer there may be clues that all is not well. They are hidden away in log files, stored on your computer. We will examine your log files for any evidence of possible future problems.
Security Check	If your computer is not protected by a firewall and / or your wireless network is publicly accessible, your computer will be far from secure, even with a fully operational virus scanner. We will check your computer for possible breaches in its defences.
Windows Update	Keeping Microsoft Windows up-to-date is just as important as keeping your anti-virus software updated. The updates, which you can download from Microsoft, include fixes for security issues which make your computer vulnerable to attack. If you have never updated your copy of Windows you may find that the download is very large and will take many hours on a dial-up modem. We will bring your Windows system bang up-to-date, so that regular smaller updates become feasible.
Disk Spruce Up	Over time, your computer's disk will fill up with junk and become fragmented. These factors will tend to slow down performance. We will spruce up your disk for you, removing unwanted files and optimizing your disk, so that programs operate more quickly.
Case Valet	Although your computer's case may look like just a box, it is in fact a carefully tuned cooling mechanism for the processor at the heart of your computer. A build up of dust and hair can reduce the cooling efficiency of your computer. This will lead to extra pressure on your computer's processor, reducing its lifespan and possibly causing catastrophic failure. We will carefully clean the inside of your computer, ensuring all cooling surfaces and mechanisms are free of obstruction.
General Check	We will perform a general check to see if we can spot anything that isn't quite right with your computer, including disk and memory scan.
Data Backup	Everybody knows that it's important to back up data, but many rarely find the time to do it. A regular visit from us will help to preserve priceless information, like your digital photography collection and business critical files. See our data handling section for more information.
Report	We provide you with a record of all work carried out during maintenance.
